Walmart presents check for $95,000 to Colorado Farm to Table

Walmart presented a check for $95,000 to Colorado Farm to Table Tuesday morning. The check was for all the accomplished work of the local non profit mission in providing hunger relief for needy and under privileged people in crisis.

The produce for this mission is specifically grown for this need and provides help for the those who need it most. In a media release Walmart says it is committed to helping fight hunger in Colorado.

The Walmart Foundation invited local nonprofits with hunger relief programs to apply for grants between $25,000 and $200,000 last May.

Walmart says it wanted to recognize those who are addressing hunger in the community, presenting over $387,000 to the organizations since last year.

Here is the list of Colorado non profit organization recipients: 

  • $25,000:        Westside CARES, Inc., Colorado Springs CO
  • $75,000:        Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, Inc., Colorado Springs, CO
  • $50,000:        Project Angel Heart, Denver, CO
  • $32,000:        Food Back for Larimer County, Fort Collins, CO
  • $25,750:        Longmont Meals on Wheels, Inc., Longmont, CO
  • $50,000:        Weld Food Bank, Greeley, CO
  • $35,000:        LaPuente Home Incorporated, Alamosa, CO
  • $95,000:        Colorado Farm to Table, Inc., Salida, CO
