Coroner identifies man's body found in Arkansas River

PUEBLO -

The body of a man found in the Arkansas River in Pueblo has been identified.

According to Pueblo Police a fisherman found a man's body just north of Dutch Clark Stadium on Friday morning. The Pueblo Fire Department responded to the scene and recovered the man's body.

The Pueblo County Coroner has identified the man as 36-year old Charles Michael Chavez from Pueblo.

The coroner says the preliminary cause of death is due to drowning.

Police are asking anyone with information to submit a tip or call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at (719)-542-7867.
