Hiker bit by rattlesnake in life-threatening condition

JEFFERSON COUNTY - Multiple agencies responded to a hiker who was bitten by a rattle snake and is in life-threatening condition Saturday.

The incident occurred at Mount Galbraith trailhead near Golden Saturday afternoon. 

A woman who was with the hiker called 911, emergency responders then had to hike a little over a mile to get to the hikers.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says the man is in his 30s and was up along the trailhead when the rattlesnake bit him. 

A St. Anthony's spokesperson told 9 News Denver a man who was brought to their facility for a rattlesnake bite has died Saturday, but this information has not yet been confirmed.
