PUEBLO -

Senator Cory Gardner will be taking part in a bipartisan Congressional Delegation that is heading Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.

The group was called together by the White House and will leave for the territory in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 7th. Because of this, Senator Gardner has canceled his town hall scheduled in Pueblo on Friday. He said he will reschedule the event.

In addition to lawmakers, the delegation will be traveling with senior officials from the White House, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.

While on the island, the group will be surveying damaged areas, meeting with Puerto Rican Governor Rico Rossello, the U.S. Coast Guard and other local officials.

A new date for the Pueblo town hall has not been set.
