Dozens of families are getting ready to welcome home another wave of Fort Carson soldiers this week at the Mountain Post.

The homecoming ceremony for about 50 members of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, will be held at the William "Bill" Reed Special Events Center at 3:30 a.m. Friday. The times of the ceremony are subject to change, and we will track any updates in arrival time.

The soldiers deployed in January to Eastern Europe in support of  U.S. Army Europe and they participated in Atlantic Resolve, as the regionally allocated heavy brigade for Europe.

The Iron Brigade kicked off continuous, nine-month rotations of U.S.-based armored brigade combat teams to Europe and they will continue in the coming months. The brigade conducted deterrence operations in Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Germany.

The brigade completed large-scale movements throughout Europe nine times, participating in 10 multinational exercises with NATO Allies and partners across the region. They also conducted 19 emergency deployment exercises, this tests the readiness of the brigade to change locations quickly.

In all, they completed 83 different training events with with Allied counterparts.
