Pueblo Police now investigating suspicious death as homicide

Posted: Updated:

Pueblo Police are now calling a suspicious death a homicide.

Police found the body of 28-year-old Danielle Calvert inside a home in the 1300 block of Van Buren St. in Pueblo Tuesday afternoon. The initial investigation described the death as suspicious.

No arrests have been made and police have not released any suspect information.

Officers responded to the home on 1:55 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for a call on a dead body. Pueblo Police canvassed the neighborhood Tuesday to see if the neighbors witnessed anything out of the ordinary. On Wednesday morning, police said detectives conducted several interviews and are continuing their investigation.

Many of Calvert's friends are taking to social media to share thoughts and memories. One friend gave News 5 permission to share her Facebook post where she wrote "With tears in our eyes and heavy heart we are sad to tell everyone that Danielle Calvert was murdered yesterday. At 28 years old she was taken from us and this world with no warning. She will truly be missed because she was so loved."

Police are asking for help from the public to find out what happened prior to the homicide. If you have any information about the crime and would like to remain anonymous, contact Pueblo Crime Stoppers at (719)-542-7867.
