Venetucci Farms opens pumpkin patch to public

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

We're just a few weeks away from Halloween, but it's not too early to head to the pumpkin patch!

A southern Colorado favorite, Venetucci Farms, is already open and kids are flocking there to pick that perfect pumpkin.

This is a decades long tradition that the kids look forward to every year, but there is a catch! Kids have to be able to pick and carry the pumpkin themselves.

This is a tradition started by Nick and Bambi Venetucci over 50 years ago! In addition to their prized pumpkins, kids will also get an educational experience learning all the ins and outs of life on the farm, and that's only the beginning of the fun.

This Saturday is the 12th annual Great Pumpkin Race and registration is still open. You can participate in either the 5 or 10k that runs right along the pumpkin patch. There's even a fun run for the kids! All the proceeds from the race go to support the pumpkin giveaway and other education programs. To register click here

Finally, the long awaited Venetucci Pumpkin Patch Days are also back! The patch will be open Saturday Oct 7th from noon to 3 p.m. and Saturday Oct 14th from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. for you to pick your perfect pumpkin!
