News5 Athlete of the Week: Thomas Pannunzio, Pueblo South back

Posted: Updated:

Our KOAA 5 Athlete of the Week is Thomas Pannunzio of Pueblo South.

The senior do it all back for the Colts is averaging over 100 all purpose yards through five games.

Pannunzio didn't take football serious until his older brother Isaiah starting getting college scholarship offers. He's now a freshman at Colorado State in Fort Collins.

Younger Pannunzio is pint sized on the field but a force to be reckoned with when the ball is in his hands. He models his game after Reggie Bush and LaDanian Tomlinson.

"I try and make someone miss if I have the opportunity to," Pannunzio said. "If someone is coming at me, I try and run around them. Its one-on-one trying to see what they will do and if they tackle me."

Pueblo South is 4-1 and 9th in the 4A Rankings.
