Realtor pleads guilty to theft charges

Posted: Updated:

Disgraced realtor Holly Dalton, who is accused of keeping nearly $100,000 in client rent payments to herself, pleaded guilty to a charge of felony theft in court Tuesday.

The 44-year-old woman pleaded guilty to theft of $20,000-$100,000, which is a Class 4 Felony. Sentencing is scheduled to happen on January 8, 2018.

The felony charge is punishable by two to six years in prison and fines between $2,000 and $500,000.

On March 16, Dalton was advised in district court and showed up about a half hour late to her hearing. She was not represented by an attorney.

Dalton is accused of stealing $95,937 a group of 15 landlords and more than 27 tenants last summer. Investigators with The Colorado Springs Police Department believe Dalton withheld the payments in a lapping scheme where she would pay some landlords keeping the receipts from others for several months then pay the missed payments using the monies meant for other landlords.
