Here are a few events going on during the first full weekend of October.

.5 K

Awake Palmer Lake is holding a .5K on Sunday in Palmer Lake. The course will start at the “Welcome To Palmer Lake” sign and feature a donut stop halfway to the finish line at O’Malley’s Pub, where you’ll get a free beer. You can run (or even walk) anytime between 10 am and 11:30 am, with the official Shotgun Start at 10:30am. Registration will $25 if you pre-register and $30 day of. All proceeds go to Awake Palmer Lake. Register and find more information here.

Birthday Celebration

The Space Foundation Discovery Center will celebrate its 5th birthday on Saturday. Admission will be free from 10 am to 4 pm for the public to come explore the center and check out their exhibits like a tour of the Solar System, Mars Robotic Rover Driving, and Space arts and crafts. Rock Ledge Ranch Harvest Festival

It’s time for harvest festivals! Rock Ledge Ranch will host their annual festival this weekend. The ranch will be open free of admission beginning at 10 am on Saturday. Enjoy your Fall favorites along with old-time music and ranch tours. Admission is free, but most activities will require a small fee. Find more information here.  

6th Annual Reynolds Ranch Harvest Festival

The 6th Annual Reynolds Ranch Harvest Festival is going on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm at the Western Museum of Mining and Industry. There will be plenty of fall family fun with pumpkin picking, gold panning, hayrides, crafts, and more. Admission is $5 for everyone 4 and older. Proceeds benefit the museum and this is their largest fundraiser of the year. Find more information here.

    Joe Pacheco, the contractor at the center of a series of News 5 investigations is sending unhappy customers to his attorney, but the law firm he claims represents him actually wants nothing to do with him.  The Law Office of Christine Pacheco-Moleskin called News 5 Wednesday and said they know contractor Pacheco, but claim he is not one of their clients.
