Anchorage resident surprised to find lynx family on his deck

Posted: Updated:

ALASKA - An Anchorage resident was awakened by noises on his deck, but was shocked by his discovery. Tim Newton told Channel 2 in Anchorage that he crept over to the window and opened the curtains, what he saw looked like a cat.

But to his surprise this was no regular cat, Newton grabbed his camera and captured what the noise was all about.

A mother lynx and her seven kittens were all gathered on Newton's deck. He took photos of the feline visitors lined up right outside of his front door, and posted them to Facebook receiving over 77,000 shares.

Newton also says the kittens proceeded to play and run around on the deck and into the yard.
