Attempted arson suspect surrenders in Pueblo County

A man accused of trying to set fire to a parked car near the Pueblo County Courthouse has surrendered to authorities. 30-year-old Seth Land was wanted on a charge of second degree arson.

Deputies said a county employee noticed a smoldering rag in the gas tank of a 2005 Saab parked on Court St. outside of the courthouse Monday afternoon. The employee told deputies he took the rag out of the vehicle and put out the fire.

Deputies said another witness saw a man walk out the courthouse toward the car, put something in the gas tank and walk away.

The owner of the Saab was at another business across the street during the incident, she estimated the incident caused $300 in damage to her car.

No one was hurt during the incident.
