Wanted father found in Colorado with 4 children

COLORADO - Salem, New Hampshire Police are investigating a case of custodial interference across states lines. According to Police a Salem, NH mother reported her ex-husband had drove their four children to Colorado and refuses to bring them home.

Police say the mother has full custodial rights, and had an agreement with the children's father to take them for a short time. Salem Police are looking for 30-year old Matthew Giovanditto of Taunton, MA. 

Giovanditto is believed to be driving a white 2015 Chevrolet Traverse with New Hampshire Disabled Veteran license plate 2559. He is also believed to be towing a white, 2000 Jayco Eagle pop-up camper bearing New Hampshire registration T400759.

It has been reported that Giovanditto and the four children have been staying in campgrounds and parking lots in the Denver/Colorado Springs areas. Colorado State Patrol updated that the children have been found, they are safe and have been reunited with a Colorado Springs family member, Sunday.

According to a report from Colorado Parks and Wildlife Ranger Jason Hagan was getting gas and spotted the white Chevy with New Hampshire license plates. “I had been told by Senior Ranger Darcy Mount to be on the lookout for a vehicle matching that description,” Hagan said. “We were especially interested because the suspect reportedly was in the Colorado Springs area because he has family here.

Hagan says once he was able to see face to face with the suspect he called CSP for backup. “We jumped out of our truck and took control of him. He was agitated and didn’t want to be in handcuffs. But we were able to cuff him and hold him until the State Patrol arrived.”

The report says the children didn't appear to be harmed or in any danger and were taken by Colorado Department of Human Services and put in protective custody.

    The Pueblo Police are searching for a suspect who caused extensive damage to Heaton Middle School.  Police were able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspect spraying graffiti on the building doors. Police say these were in two incidents, one on Nov 17 and again on Nov 20.
