A 14-year-old boy accused of making threats to shoot up Salida High School, has been taken into custody by Salida Police.

Police arrested him Thursday night around 6:10 p.m. The teenager will be processed and transported to a juvenile holding facility until a court hearing.

The student reportedly made specific threats to target certain members of the staff at Salida High School.

Police said they interviewed school staff on Wednesday and determined that they would seek an arrested warrant for the 14-year-old boy.

The charges he is facing include disorderly conduct and interference with staff, faculty or students of educational institutions.

Before taking him into custody, police say they found a car that was believed to be stolen by the teen, and some of his items inside, however, the gun was not located.

The student has been suspended and the school is working to have him expelled.
