CSPD searching for driver involved in serious crash

COLORADO SPRINGS -

Colorado Springs Police are searching for the driver who left the scene of a car crash in Colorado Springs Wednesday night.

Investigators say around 10:00 p.m. the driver of a blue Toyota tried to turn left from North Academy Boulevard onto North Carefree Circle and crashed into a passing Subaru. The driver of the Toyota left three of his injured passengers at the scene and ran off. All three passengers were taken to the hospital, two of them have serious injuries. The driver of the Subaru was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Toyota is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's with dyed blonde hair. If you have any information you're asked to contact CSPD at 444-7000.

The intersection of North Academy Boulevard and North Carefree Circle was closed for several hours but reopened just before 4:00 a.m.
