KOAA Athlete of the Week: Brayden Luft, TCA Running Back

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

Our News5 KOAA Athlete of the Week is Brayden Luft of The Classical Academy.

The senior at TCA has nearly 300 yards rushing through two games  and two touchdowns.

Luft wasn't in the plans to be the primary running back for the Titans this season but he's filled in nicely.

"With Rhys [Ryba] going down down, I kind of had to step into that and the offensive line has been opening up some big holes," Luft said. "They have been working hard so I've been able to break free for some big ones."

"The big thing with him is he is so explosive that if you miss a tackle or take a wrong angle, a four or five yard gain could turn into a 60 or 70 yard gain," said head coach Justin Rich.

TCA takes on D'Evelyn on Friday night in a top-10 match up in 2A.
