UCCS posts another enrollment increase

COLORADO SPRINGS -

The University of Colorado- Colorado Springs posted another year of enrollment growth, attracting 427 new students at the university.

It's an increase of 3.6 percent, bringing the total number to 12,422 students. That's also a 60 percent increase in student enrollment over the last 10 years, adding more than 4,700 students from the 2007 total.

Enrollment for the 2017 freshman class actually declined from the previous year by 36 students or 1.75 percent.  The freshman class in 2016 was a record, jumping 25 percent from the 2015 freshman class.

However, the university posted a 9.4 percent increase in graduate students in 2017 and a 2.5 percent increase overall for undergrad students at the university now.

UCCS calls itself one of the fastest growing universities in Colorado.
