Suspect in custody following standoff at King Soopers on Constitution Ave.

COLORADO SPRINGS -

Police closed off access to the King Soopers at Constitution Ave. and Marksheffel Blvd. for a reportedly man barricaded inside a car.

Just after 1 p.m., El Paso County Sheriff's deputies were able to get the suspect in custody. He was reportedly refusing the get out of the vehicle and had weapons with him. 

Deputies cleared the parking lot, moved people to a safe location and locked down the location.

Constitution Avenue was closed for a short period of time, with traffic allowed to pass after 1 p.m.

The entire parking lot remains closed for the investigation.
