We’re almost halfway through the month of September and there are plenty of events this weekend.

Holly Berry House Folk Art Festival

The 39th Annual Holly Berry House Folk Art Festival comes to Rock Ledge Ranch this weekend. The festival will run from 12pm to 6pm on Friday, 9am to 6pm on Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Over 155 artisans will be featuring fine art, jewelry, pottery, photography, clothing, decorations, antiques, and more along with music, historical tours, and food. Tickets will be $6 for adults and $2 for children 6-12 and they’re good all weekend. Find more information here.

Learn To Curl

The Winter Olympics are coming up in February and that means the return of curling! If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about this unique sport, the Broadmoor Curling Club will host a Learn To Curl clinic this weekend. The clinic will include an introduction to the sport and on-ice instruction from 5:30pm to 8:30pm this Sunday at the World Arena Ice Hall. Cost will be $30 for individuals, $50 for couples. Pawtoberfest

Pawtoberfest will come back to Bear Creek Regional Park this Saturday. From 10am to 3pm the dog-friendly festival will feature beer and spirit tastings, a dog walk, pet contests, music, vendors, and food trucks. Tickets will range from $25 to $45. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. Register and find more information here.

American Kickoff

Kick off college football season in style with the American Kickoff at Falcon Stadium this weekend. Blake Shelton, Big & Rich, and The Oak Ridge Boys will fill the stadium with music beginning at 5:30pm. Gates will open at 4:30pm with food and drink vendors on site throughout the night.     Deputies from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office say a body has been found near the Arkansas River in the Texas Creek area. The discovery was made around sunset at 5 p.m. when investigators responded. It is unclear if the body belongs to a man or woman or any other identifying information.

    NEW YORK (AP) - Malcolm Young, the rhythm guitarist and guiding force behind the Australian hard rock band AC/DC, has died. He was 64. AC/DC announced the death on their official Facebook page and website Saturday.
