Venetucci Farm bringing back Pumpkin Hunt

Posted: Updated:

An autumn tradition is coming back to Colorado Springs one year after it was cancelled due to PFC contamination to groundwater in the area.

Venetucci Farm will host its annual Pumpkin Hunt for students from area schools in October, but it is taking steps to make sure people know the risks if people decide to eat the pumpkins.

The farm said tests showed very low PFC levels in the pumpkins and were "well below the health screening levels for fruits and vegetables."

The farm said it's perfectly safe to use them for jack-o'-lanterns or in Halloween displays.
