Student brings loaded gun to school in Denver

DENVER - The Denver Public Schools spokesperson, Will Jones says a student had a loaded gun and bullets in his locker Monday afternoon. Jones says the incident caused a lockout from 2 - 3 p.m. at the Denver Justice High School at 300 E. 9th Avenue.

According to Denver Police during a routine check, bullets were found in the students locker. When the student was brought to the principal's office a loaded .32 handgun was found in his backpack.

Jones told News 9 Denver the student did not make any threatening statements nor has he made any previous threatening statements. Denver Police are searching for the student, the age and grade of the student has not yet been released.

    A shortage in construction workers is being felt across the nation and it's hit Colorado Springs hard. While it's no secret the demand is high for housing across the city right now and it's been growing for decades.
