United Airlines waive bag fees for flights affected by hurricane

According to a release, United Airlines will be waiving bag fees for passengers traveling to specific airports affected by Hurricane Irma. Many United flights to and from southeastern U.S. have been affected by the hurricane.

The majority of flights in and out of Southern Florida will be canceled til Monday. 

If you’re traveling to or from any of the following airports now through September 12, United is waiving the fee for your 1st and 2nd checked bag. This applies to all customers, regardless of status and fare.

  • Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, FL (VPS)
  • Ft. Lauderdale, FL (FLL)
  • Ft. Myers, FL (RSW)
  • Havana, CU (HAV)
  • Jacksonville, FL (JAX)
  • Miami, FL (MIA)
  • Nassau, BS (NAS)
  • Orlando, FL (MCO)
  • Panama City, FL (ECP)
  • Pensacola, FL (PNS)
  • Providenciales, TC (PLS)
  • Puerto Plata, DO (POP)
  • Punta Cana, DO (PUJ)
  • San Juan, PR, US (SJU)
  • Santiago, DO (STI)

    COLORADO SPRINGS - A retired Army veteran and Air Force Staff Sergeant from Colorado Springs were able to share their stories with the world, about being transgender in the military. The couple was hosted on the Ellen Degeneres show in hopes to shed light on the controversy behind transgender military service members.

    Denver Public Schools Superintendent Tom Boasberg announced late Friday that East High principal Andy Mendelsberg will retire following 26 years with the district, while athletic director Lisa Porter has also resigned.
