CSPD arrest suspect in carjacking at knifepoint

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado Springs Police responded to a reported carjacking near 5300 Airport Rd, Sunday. According to police the alleged victim agreed to give a ride to a man identified as Dominic Dominguez.

The victim told police while driving Dominguez threatened him with a knife and forced him out of the vehicle. The vehicle is a 1998 tan Toyota Camry with Alabama license plates and a broken passenger side window. 

CSPD did make an arrest as the suspect is in custody and the vehicle has been recovered.

    CSP has determined alcohol and drugs are not being considered contributing factors to the crash, but improper passing being investigated as contributing factor.

    A body found near the Arkansas River has been identified. The body was found Friday Nov 17, Fremont County Deputies were dispatched to the area of Texas Creek for an initial death investigation. The Fremont County Sheriff's Office updated that the investigation was upgraded to a homicide Monday.
