Colorado Springs Switchbacks sign new players

Posted: Updated:

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC officially announced the signings of AJ Ajeakwa and Shawn Chin. Both players joined San Antonio this past year, having played in at least 15 matches.

"I am glad that we were able to add Shawn and AJ to our roster for the final push to the regular season," said Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. "They will both help us in experience and quality to get a playoff birth. Shawn is very versatile and will help us in a few different positions and AJ is a quality attacking player that adds speed and quality in different areas."

Chin was also a member of the U.S. U-20 squad in 2008 where he helped win the tournament. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to join the club, " said Chin on joining the Switchbacks.

Ajeakwa was named the Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2012. "I'm ready to help the Switchbacks secure a playoff spot and make a good post-season run," he says.

Both players will be eligible for the match against Phoenix Rising FC at Weidner Field. Tickets are available here.

Vandals dump sugar inside gas tank of pink Cadillac, business owner says

A local business owner is trying to get to the bottom of what looks like some targeted vandalism.  She says someone dumped a bag of sugar in the gas tank of her 1960's Cadillac.   The owner, Lisa Harrington, says it happened on Saturday with lots of activity in the store and in the area.  The Cadillac, a landmark associated with the store, was parked on West Colorado Avenue at the time. It wasn't until a few days later when Harrington realized something was wrong.
