COLORADO SPRINGS -

Police said a train hit and killed a woman early Saturday morning near Uintah and I-25, resulting in the fourth train vs. pedestrian incident in the last 18 days in Colorado Springs.

Officers responded to the call a little after 4 a.m. They said a southbound BNSF freight train hit and killed the woman. They later found her body near a northbound train that was also in the same area.

Another fatal accident happened in the same general vicinity as another train vs. pedestrian accident almost two weeks ago. A man died when a train hit him near I-25 and Uintah on Aug. 27. Police said that incident was being investigated as a possible suicide.

As of Saturday morning, police have not identified the victim or given an age. Police offered no possible motive for this latest incident.
