LA PLATA COUNTY -

The La Plata County father accused in the death of his 13-year-old son, Dylan, was back in court on Friday afternoon for a motions hearing.

His lawyers asked the judge for protection and conservation of all evidence being used for the upcoming trial. Redwine's lawyers also asked that the media not have access to him in jail.

Dylan's mother and Redwine's ex-wife Elaine Hall was present for the hearing. Redwine was arrested in Washington state last month and he was formally charged with second degree murder and child abuse resulting in death in the 2012 murder of Dylan.

Dylan's remians were found in a remote area northwest of his father's home hear Vallecito Reservoir in May of 2013. Investigators said DNA evidence taken from the father's home and truck tied him to the murder.

He is being held on a $750,000 bond. Another hearing was scheduled for December 15, 2017 ahead of his arraignment. Redwine has not entered a plea.
