The Colorado Springs Police department is investigating the death of an inmate at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on Thursday.
No details about the incident have been released about the death, but officers have said there is no threat to the community.
The law requires police to be the lead investigative agency on the case and officers will work in cooperation with the El Paso County Sheriff's office before forwarding the case to the District Attorney's office for review.
Colorado Springs Police said they are still looking a man suspected of firing shots at officers Friday afternoon.
The suspect involved in an active shooting situation in Colorado Springs is in police custody Saturday. 31-year old Neal Joseph Arceneaux is in custody, according to police.
