In The Stairwell performs Tuesday night

The Air Force Academy's all-male a capella group "In The Stairwell" is performing live Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. on KOAA 5 in the semi finals of America's Got Talent!

The group advanced following their performance of Fun's hit song "Some Nights" on Aug. 15 and a nationwide vote to become one of the semifinalists.

On Tuesday night, the group will be one of 11 acts performing in front of a national TV audience for one of the final five spots. America will decide the top three spots, and there will be an instant save for the fourth finalist and judges will decide the fifth and final spot.

Since the August performance, the group has been busy, performing at the Air Force home opener against VMI on Sept. 2.

"In The Stairwell" was originally formed by a group of freshman cadets in 2004. They got their name by singing the only place they could, in the dorm stairwells.

The group has broad support at the Academy. Fellow cadets have been cheering them on from Colorado Springs. 

"It's really cool to see them have this opportunity because we're very talented, not only just academically and militarily, but a lot of people have other talents that America doesn't really get to see so it's cool that we get to show that side," Madison Lohman, a senior cadet said.

Voting will open at 6 p.m. MDT on Tuesday and will close at 5 a.m. MDT on Wednesday. You can vote via text, the America's Got Talent app or here.

    Deputies from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office say a body has been found near the Arkansas River in the Texas Creek area. The discovery was made around sunset at 5 p.m. when investigators responded. It is unclear if the body belongs to a man or woman or any other identifying information.
