American Legion holds fundraiser for food pantry

Posted: Updated:

The American Legion Post 2008 in Falcon spent its labor day riding motorcycle as part of a poker run fundraiser Monday.

Legion members rode their bikes along a 150 mile route to raise money for the High Plains Helping Hands Food Pantry.

That ride helped raise money for food, clothing, training and other help for people who need it around El Paso County.

'' We noticed that there was quite a need out in the rural areas, out way out east of here, Falcon, Peyton, Ellicott Calhan, so that's how we started," High Plains Helping Hands member Dianna Frazier said. "There's not a lot of resources out here for people that are in need."
