145th Colorado State Fair wraps up

Posted: Updated:
PUEBLO -

Monday was the last day of the 145th Colorado State Fair.

Plenty of people were still at the fairgrounds on Monday night catching last rides on the Ferris wheel and eating their last funnel cakes for the year.

News 5 spoke with the general manager of the fair, Sarah Cummings, to find out how this year’s fair went.

She says it’s been a great run this year and full of highlights such as people seeing all the livestock and learning about Colorado agriculture.

Cummings says some new things that came to the fair this year were the Butterfly Exhibit and the poutine vendor, both of which could be back next year.

She says plans are already being made for the 2018 Colorado State Fair.

As of Monday night, final attendance numbers were still being tabulated.

However, as of Saturday, attendance stood at about 442,000.
