Popular tiny camel statue stolen from downtown Colorado Springs

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

A unique and favorite piece of public art from downtown Colorado Springs has been stolen.

It is a very small statue of two camels touching noses. The location for display is in the outside wall of a downtown building where it appears a brick is missing. Instead the statue is in the space.

It was originally put in as a temporary display, but it is so popular The Downtown Partnership purchased it just last week to make it permanent. By spreading word about the theft, there is hope clues will surface to help find the stolen art. In the meantime a kickstarter fund has been started to raise money for a replacement.
