Doherty football ready to build off 2016

Posted: Updated:

Doherty High School football has one mission in 2017, make the playoffs. Just one year ago the Spartans posted an impressive 8-2 mark in 5A but still fell short of the postseason. A disappointing finish to an otherwise breakthrough year for those in Sparta.

"I'm not going to lie, winning is a lot more fun than losing but it's a byproduct of doing things the right way. We're pretty excited with where we're at, but we have to improve that's what life is all about and that's what this program is all about," said Doherty Head Coach, Jeff Krumlauf.

For more on the Spartans push for the postseason, watch the video attached to this article and follow News-5 Sports throughout the fall.
