Rampart football back for more in 2017

Posted: Updated:

Rampart High School football is back in 2017 and looking to build off the success of 2016. An 8-3 record and a season that finished in the playoffs has the Rams entering the new year with high expectations, even after losing a large portion of the roster to graduation.

"Every year we graduate people and every year there's opportunities for new kids to step up into those leadership roles, big time roles and I'm excited to see those kids do that this season," said Rampart Head Coach, Rob Royer.

"We have a chip on our shoulder this year that people are expecting us to fall off losing all those seniors so we're really expecting big things," said defensive lineman, Myles Carter.

Big goals that will be achieved through big time physicality.

"I think that physicality. Our kids understand how to be a physical football team on both offense, defense and special teams. This off-season we worked on grit, that stubborn refusal to quit and we worked hard throughout the off-season, summer and summer camp so our kids understand what it means," said Coach Royer.
