Soldiers welcome students back to school

FORT CARSON -

Fort Carson soldiers greeted students this morning with a red carpet welcome at Patriot Elementary School.

Along with the red carpet, soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division gave high fives and cheered with the students.

There were also soldiers in crosswalks, to bring attention to the start of the new school year for drivers. 

Schools across Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 started on Thursday, including Abrams, Mountainside, Patriot and Weikel elementary schools and Carson Middle School on Fort Carson.
