Triggering a baseball career in Trinidad

Posted: Updated:

For most baseball players the road to the Major Leagues begins in the Minor Leagues. But for players on the Trinidad Triggers, they're just hoping for a chance to play with a team affiliated with a big league club.

A member of the Pecos League, the Triggers are an independent team that gives players one last chance to make their dreams come true. However, playing baseball for the Triggers isn't as easy as just playing a game.

For more on the struggles these players face and the community that has embraced them, watch the video attached to this article.

A long-standing Christmas display has been targeted by vandals.  Grinches set their eyes on human-sized candy canes lining Woodlawn Avenue in Canon City late last week. Several were thrown to the ground leaving them dented, chipped and some even went missing. While most have been put back up, many worry, these Grinches will strike again.
