UPDATE: Fremont County deputies have located the person of interest in an attempted child abduction last Saturday.

Deputies thanked the public for their help in finding the person.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Florence Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a vehicle and suspect in connection with an attempted child abduction.

A male suspect attempted to lure a 4-year-old boy into his truck, described as a red Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab 4x4 pickup truck with black rims, at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of E. 3rd St in Florence.

Kids in the area say they've seen the truck before at local parks. The driver is described as a Hispanic male, 50 to 60 years old, approximately 5'7'' tall, 200 pounds, with "salt and pepper" hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a plain white t-shirt. He spoke English, but had a Spanish accent.

Anyone with information on the suspect, the vehicle, or the attempted abduction is asked to call Florence Police Department at 719-784-3411 or call 911.
