Happy National Ice Cream Day!

Sunday, July 16 is National Ice Cream Day! And luckily multiple restaurants and businesses are offering free ice cream and deals to celebrate.

There's even an ice cream deal for pets today. PetSmart will give away free doggy-safe ice cream sundaes at its PetSmart Pet Hotel locations.

As you may or may not remember from history class, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month and established Ice Cream Day as the Third Sunday in July.

More deals and freebies: 

  • McDonalds is offering a free vanilla ice cream cone if you download their app, and they're also having a contest for free ice cream for a year.
  • Wendy's has 50 cent Frosties until August 31.
  • Cold Stone Creamery has buy-one-get-one free coupons valid only July 16th for people who sign up for their rewards program.
  • Baskin Robbins has a $2-off deal on their Polar Pizza and other freebies and deals for people who download their app.
  • Whole Foods has a 2-for-$6 deal on all Ben and Jerry's pints.

    A shortage in construction workers is being felt across the nation and it's hit Colorado Springs hard. While it's no secret the demand is high for housing across the city right now and it's been growing for decades.
