Colorado Department of Youth Corrections escapees blamed for string of robberies

Colorado Springs Police have arrested an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old connected to a string of robberies. According to police, 18-year-old Marcus Elliott is also accused of attempted murder for allegedly shooting at two people during a July 2nd road rage incident.

Elliot and the juvenile reportedly escaped from the Colorado Department of Youth Corrections on the day before the crimes occurred.

Starting on June 28th and lasting until July 10th, the suspects are accused of the following crimes:

6/28 - Auto theft of a white Nissan Sentra

7/2 - Robbery of a person (2700 Dublin

7/2 - Robbery at 7-11 (1200 E. Fillmore) and robbery at Kum & Go (3000 Hancock Expressway)

7/4 - Robbery at 7-11 (3500 N. Academy Blvd.)

7/6 - Robbery/carjacking (2900 Airport Road)
