Marksheffel-Mesa Ridge Parkway intersection now open

Posted: Updated:

Colorado Springs is one step closer to having a beltway around the eastside of the city. The Marksheffel-Mesa Ridge Parkway intersection is now open for drivers.

The connector now makes it possible to drive from I-25 near Fountain to Woodmen Road without going through the heart of the city.

It also provides a faster connection between Fort Carson to Peterson and Shriever Air Force Bases.

As development continues there will be a connection from Marksheffel through Research Parkway, providing a good alternative to I-25 and Powers.

A Widefield investment group paid for the project with El Paso County maintaining the road.
