We are looking for flawless on-air performers who know their science and can be out in front of the changing weather on multiple platforms. Personality and connection with the audience are key to success at this station. We will supply you with the very best in forecasting and storytelling tools, a full fleet of WSI & weather-related products, the only live local radar in town, an outdoor weather deck, a brand new set, and news team that is 100% behind you in breaking weather. We also have a partnership with Weather Nation for 24-7 weather on our secondary digital channel which more than doubles the size of any weather team in town.
Duties include: writing / preparing forecasts; producing clean and informative graphics to tell the weather story; updating our web site/social media platforms, public appearances, weather reporting. Our viewing area experiences every kind of life threatening weather situation you can imagine, and our job is to be in front of it.
Successful candidate must have minimum 1 year previous broadcast meteorology experience and a degree in meteorology or related science. Ideal candidate will also have experience with WSI weather systems and some HTML code, live weather reporting experience and experience writing weather stories for multiple platforms. AMS and/or NWA seal of approval preferred.
