Pueblo Police searching for suspect in attempted kidnapping

Posted: Updated:

Pueblo Police Department asks for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted for attempted kidnapping.

A 23-year-old man called police early Friday morning and reported that an unknown suspect tried to kidnap his 2-year-old daughter from her bedroom while she was sleeping.

The man says he was watching TV inside the home in the 2000 block of West Street when he heard his daughter talking at about 12:45 a.m., then heard another unfamiliar voice.

When he walked into his daughter's room, he says she was crying and hugging a stuffed animal. At the same time, he heard a fan fall from the bedroom window and saw someone reaching their arm into the home through the window.

The man grabbed his daughter, shut the bedroom door, and ran to his brother's bedroom for help. Later, they realized that the screen to the window had been taken off several times over the past few weeks.

The man told police the suspect had a spiderweb tattooed on their right elbow and an "S" tattoo like a Superman logo on their forearm, but could not provide any more information to describe the suspect.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find any witnesses or suspects who matched the description.

Pueblo Police is encouraging the community to keep all doors and windows locked. Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to call Pueblo Police or anonymously call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP (7867). Information that leads to a felony arrest could be eligible for a cash reward. ?
