The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Pueblo, Custer, Kiowa, Fremont, Prowers,Crowley, Bent and Otero counties in Southern Colorado.
The warnings for Prowers, Bent, Custer, Kiowa, Fremont, Otero and Crowley are set to expire at 4:45 p.m.
The warning for Pueblo County will expire at 5:00 p.m.
The thunderstorms are expected to drop heavy rain and large hail
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning until 7:00 p.m. for Pueblo, Custer and Fremont Counties.
At 3:18 p..m.Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one half inch of rain has fallen across eastern portions of the warning area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly as it moves into the Junkins burn scar.
Beulah and Wetmore are expected to be affected. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Middle Hardscrabble, North Hardscrabble, Hardscrabble, North Creek. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
As much as an inch of rain could fall in this area.
