Road crews are blasting, excavating, and removing rocks along I-25 on Raton Pass as part of a Colorado Department of Transportation rockfall mitigation project.

The work began at the end of March and is expected to be complete in August 2017. Traffic will be impacted on Raton Pass in Las Animas County, south of Trinidad, as crews work to clear debris.

There will be single lane closures on northbound and southbound I-25 with delays as construction continues. Video on CDOT's Facebook page shows a rockfall blast in action.
