The Pueblo Chile plate passed by the Colorado Legislature was signed into law by Governor John Hickenlooper on Tuesday.

You'll be able to get yours in September 2018.

Pueblo Representative Daneya Esgar says, "This is a proud day for all of Colorado, not just for Pueblo and the Lower Arkansas Valley, where the Pueblo chiles are grown." "Our local growers deserve recognition of their outstanding chiles. I'm just sorry they were out planting today and couldn't come to the signing."

The plate is part of a statewide branding campaign to support the 16 family farms that make up the Pueblo Chile Growers Association.

A shortage in construction workers is being felt across the nation and it's hit Colorado Springs hard. While it's no secret the demand is high for housing across the city right now and it's been growing for decades.
