A Colorado Springs man is in jail accused of slashing a paraplegic man in the face with a machete. Officers were called to a home in 1300 block of Richards Avenue near Lake and I-25 Saturday afternoon on a report of a suicidal party who had attempted to cut his own throat.

After they arrived, they discovered the suspect, 22-year-old Sean Mantz, got in a heated argument with the victim and swung the machete at him, hitting him in the cheek.

Mantz is being held at the El Paso County Jail on $100,000 bond on charges of First Degree Assault and Crimes Against an At-Risk Person.
The victim was treated for his injury at a local hospital.
