KOAA-TV, the local news and information leader in Colorado Springs, is seeking a senior-level media salesperson to join our team as a Senior Media Consultant. This is a rare opportunity to join the number one television station in one of the fastest growing television markets in the country. This is a commission only position with a well-established book of business.

The ideal candidate will aggressively pursue new clients and grow existing relationships, assisting advertising partners in achieving their goals for growth. This person will sell the number one station using the best industry tools and training, with the opportunity to make more money than they’ve ever made before. The Senior Media Consultant will be willing to immediately step into a leadership role in both new business development and existing account service.
Specific Responsibilities: The Senior Media Consultant is responsible for prospecting, presenting, closing and maintaining a growing list of local advertising clients. To achieve this, the Senior Media Consultant will:
Quickly establish trust and credibility with critical station accounts by providing excellent customer service to clients, including high accessibility and responsiveness to inquiries and support requests.
Consistently prospect for new advertisers and research new client categories. Approach potential clients through new leads, category prospecting, existing relationships, promotional events, or other means.
Dig deeper than your competition into the needs of the business to uncover opportunities.
Establish and maintain excellent, mutually beneficial working relationships with local advertisers.
Serve as a front-line marketing consultant to local advertisers, including interviewing to determine marketing needs and aligning those needs optimally with TV and Informed Interactive products and services.
Work precisely and cooperatively with marketing producers and Informed Interactive to ensure clients have effective commercials produced in a timely manner.
Must have good attention to detail, time management skills and a comfort level working in a commission only environment.
Detailed and accurate revenue reporting is a critical skill for success as a Media Consultant, periodic reporting must be completed and forecasts adjusted proactively.

Position Requirements: Marketing consultant should have the following, or comparable, skills, abilities and experience:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 year sales, business development or related experience, preferably in broadcast media, interactive and/or media services. This must include references and a proven track record of success.
A broad working knowledge of the fundamentals and emerging trends of interactive media sales, advertising, and marketing solutions for local businesses.
Excellent verbal, written and visual communications skills; presentation skills; and interpersonal communications skills.
