Rumble in the Rockies

PBR is taking over Colorado springs this weekend. They kick things off with a party on Tejon street Friday night and the festivities continue Saturday and Sunday. A 5k race will start at 9am Saturday at Quail Lake. Round one of Rumble in the Rockies starts Saturday at 7pm at the Broadmore World Arena. Round 2 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round pick up Sunday at 2pm. Tickets and more information can be found here  

Harvest Festival

As we get into the fall season, harvest festivals are going to be in full swing. The winery at Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City will have its harvest festival this weekend. From 10-6 Saturday and 10-5 Sunday there will be wine (obviously), food, arts, and live music. Limited releases of Harvest Fest Merlot and Riesling will be available. There will even be a fun zone for kids. Parking and admission are free. Find more information here  

The Colorado Springs Marathon

The Colorado Springs Marathon is Sunday!  This year there will be a full marathon and half marathon as well as a 5k for less ambitious runners. The races will start and end at Acacia Park downtown with the course showcasing the city of Colorado Springs. Whether you’re running or just cheering on the racers, Acacia Park will be filled with fun all day long. There will be a beer tent, a kids play area, and a live DJ to keep up the energy. The longer races start at 7am and the 5k race will start at 7:05.  Kids can get in on the action too- their own 5k race will start at 10:45.  Prices range from $20 for the kids 5k to $150 for the full marathon.  You can still register Saturday at the packet pick up and vendor expo at Hotel Elegante on Circle Dr from 11am to 6pm. Manitou Springs Heritage Brew Festival

The Manitou Springs Heritage Center will be putting on their 2nd brew festival in Memorial Park this Saturday. Over 20 local breweries will be there providing unlimited samples. Beer will be poured from 1-5pm with a special VIP hour from 12-1. General admission is $40 and VIP tickets are $45. All proceeds will benefit the Heritage Center. More information and tickets here
