WATCH IT LIVE: Officials to update Hayden Pass Fire

FREMONT COUNTY -

Officials are planning on updating their progress in the battle against the Hayden Pass Fire.  A news conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.  We are live streaming the news conference here.  The fire is burning over 16,000 acres and officials expect the fire to will continue to spread to Rainbow Lake, Brush Creek and Wulsten Baldy in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness.  Officials say the fire is 35% contained.

People living in the following areas will be allowed to return to their homes beginning Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. ONLY if they have a pass for reentry.  Passes can be picked up at Cotopaxi High School.

  • County Road 1A
  • Eagle Peak Subdivision West of County Road 1A 
  • Mosher Creek area
  • County Road 40
  • Fox Creek subdivision

Mandatory evacuations (all evacuated roads are CLOSED):

  • County Road 6, South of County Rd 45
  • County Road 35
  • Lutheran Camp (Custer County)

Pre-evacuations: 

  • 3 mile radius from County Rd 6

Road Closures: 

  • County Road 1A from Hwy 50 to Hwy 69
  • County Road 39
