Officials are planning on updating their progress in the battle against the Hayden Pass Fire. A news conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday. We are live streaming the news conference here. The fire is burning just under 13,000 acres and moving to the east.
New evacuations orders went into effect Wednesday afternoon, they include County Road 35 and the Eagle Peak Subdivision on the west side of County Road 1A.
Mandatory evacuations remain in place along County Road 6, south of County Road 45 and County Road 40, including the Fox Creek Subdivision.
The fire was caused by a lightning strike Friday, according to the Forest Service, and grew exponentially to about 5,104 acres by Sunday afternoon.
