Man in custody following two hour stand off

Posted: Updated:

A man surrendered without incident Thursday night following a nearly a two-hour standoff with Pueblo County Sheriff's Deputies and Special Weapons and Tactics team members after he barricaded himself inside a Pueblo West home.
Deputies responded to a home in the 500 Block of West Golfwood Drive at about 6:30 p.m. on the report of a family disturbance involving the suspect and his uncle. The uncle was able to get out of the home safely but the suspect barricaded himself inside the home, where reportedly there were numerous weapons.
The Sheriff's SWAT team members and negotiators responded and after more than an hour of communicating with the man, he surrendered without incident.
The man was injured during the altercation with his uncle. He was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The uncle was not seriously injured. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
